BISMARCK, N.D. – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission (APUC) awards for nine projects. The awards totaling $1,069,107 were approved at the APUC quarterly meeting July 23-24 in Medora.

APUC is a program of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture that administers grant programs for research and development of new and expanded uses for North Dakota agricultural products which support the development of concepts and products that support our rural communities and agriculture operations. The grants can be used for basic and applied research, marketing and utilization, farm diversification, nature-based agritourism, prototype and technology and technical assistance.

The following received approval:

Gevo Inc. was awarded $250,000 to study the water supply for an ethanol and sustainable aviation fuel production facility. Contact Chris Ryan at 303-858-8358.

Premier Technologies LLC was awarded $250,000 to further develop a liquid fertilizer flow monitoring and control system for planters and implements of row crop production. Contact Kelly Shipman at 701-212-7503.

Yellowstone River Beef was awarded $75,000 to launch a targeted marketing campaign for a USDA-certified meat processing and retail business. Contact Calli Thorne at 701-770-1351.

Greenfield Robotics Corporation was awarded $180,000 to further develop a foliar feeding attachment for autonomous robots. Contact Nandan Kalle at 310-261-1975.

Lilac Agriculture, LLC was awarded $140,000 to commercialize microbial inoculant tech specifically engineered for North Dakota’s climate. Contact Wyatt Warkenthien at 701-630-8269.
