BISMARCK – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced that the North Dakota Department of Agriculture has funding available for teachers in grades 1-4 to incorporate microgreens kits into their curriculum.

“The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is seeking teachers interested in bringing this STEM learning opportunity into their classrooms,” Goehring said. “Students will learn about plants, how they grow and how microgreens are used in basic recipes.”

Teachers interested in receiving microgreens kits may go to https://www.ndda.nd.gov/microgreens for full details and to fill out an application. Applications must be submitted in electronic form by Thursday, March 7, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by March 11, 2024. Teachers that received the hydroponic tower garden grant are ineligible to apply.
