BISMARCK, N.D. – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring released the following statement regarding the passing of Keith Winter.
“I am saddened to hear of the passing of Keith Winter, a lifelong McKenzie County rancher. Winter was an advocate for the livestock industry and an expert on federal lands and grazing. He served more than 30 years as the McKenzie County Grazing Association president and more than 50 years as a member of the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association. His leadership extended to the national level, serving on the Public Lands Council and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. I was fortunate to consider Keith a friend as we worked together with ranchers on federal land issues over the years. My condolences are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” Goehring said.
