BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Department of Agriculture will host several Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Grower Training Courses.

BISMARCK – Palmer amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri) has been confirmed in Divide County. One plant was pulled from a wet/green spot on the outer edges of a wheat field. A sample was taken and submitted for DNA analysis to the National Agricultural Genotyping Center, where it was confirmed as Palmer amaranth.

BISMARCK – The State Board of Animal Health will meet at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22, via teleconference.

BISMARCK – First- to third-grade educators in the state are invited to apply for worm soil conservation kits, provided by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and the North Dakota Ag in the Classroom Program. The kits will provide students with the opportunity to learn about worms and their role in soil health and helping plants grow.

The kits will provide students with the opportunity to watch a live butterfly through each stage of its life.
