BISMARCK – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has awarded 23 grants totaling $1.5 million to county agriculture fair associations in the state for the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure projects. County agriculture fair associations or associations that run or manage a county fair in North Dakota were eligible to apply.

BISMARCK, N.D. – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced an enhancement to the interactive local foods map to allow farmers markets to indicate if they accept Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits at their market. The North Dakota State University Extension Family Nutrition Program supported the change to the map.

BISMARCK – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has received personal reports of extensive damage to agricultural infrastructure in the wake of the strong storm system that went through North Dakota Friday evening, producing tornadoes, strong winds and hail.

BISMARCK, N.D. – At the recent State Board of Animal Health meeting, the board issued an order requiring lactating dairy cattle to be tested for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) within 10 days prior to being at the North Dakota State Fair. The board also strongly recommended that other fairs require testing as well.
